There is no doubt that food is a form of bonding and this is true for just about any part in the world. China is no exception and despite its regional roots, Chinese food is enjoyed worldwide. This year we have seen Dunks fly off the e-shelves in an unprecedented matter. Here, we take a look at a Dunk Low that is set to help us ring in the new year and continue the Dunk hype into 2021.

The Nike SB Dunk Low Pro ‘Street Hawker’ was designed by Guangzhou artist Jason Deng. Through his watercolor illustrations, this mismatched pair bridges six different regional dishes from six different cities. The right shoe features a standout copper toe box said to resemble that of Chengdu hotpots while the rust hued ostrich leathers on the sides seem like crispy roasted goose skin. The silver Swoosh pays homage to the metal hooks that hang these geese in butcher shops. The left shoe uses a lighter beige hue to mirror that of three flour-based dishes, while the suede on the toe box is made to resemble that of a Beijing green bean soup called Douzhi. Watercolor graphics resemble that of mutton soup and draw inspiration from Shanghai noodles and blue skies. The left shoe is then finished off with chopstick Swooshes and an insole with porcelain motifs.
