Vans x Kids of Immigrants 'Anything is Possible' Collection | Release Info

For us here at CNK, the collections that tend to catch our attention are those that resonate with us. They have an element of storytelling that makes a pair of sneakers or an apparel collection so much more than that. When it comes to creative storytelling, Kids of Immigrants is a brand that always comes to mind. Their community-over-competition approach coupled with their empowerment of the immigrant community has made them a fan favorite. 

This week, we can expect something new from KOI and Vans. The duo has teamed up once again to bring us a collection titled ‘Anything is Possible’, a saying that stems from KOI’s signature slogan. The Vans Old Skool is used as the canvas for the all beige colorway but upon closer inspection, you’ll notice that the material choices are what makes this shoe pop. Paisley, corduroy, velvet, shearling and patent leather are all used which are symbolic of the founders’ upbringing. The insoles are inspired from Chinese laundry bags and the treading features yellow backdrops to represent household lamps. Additionally, the midsoles have ‘Kids of Immigrants’ repeated all over and pays homage to the apartment in which the collective first started the brand.

In addition to the Vans Old Skool, a range of apparel and accessories to match is set to drop as well. The apparel collection will include a hoodie, long sleeve shirt, canvas tote bag, two short options and a pair of sweatpants in a light cream, yellow and black color palette. The collection is set to drop first via the Greenhouse app on 8/18 with a second release via Kids of Immigrants’ website on 8/20. An official price list for the collection has not been set but we anticipate the Vans retailing for under $100 USD with the apparel ranging anywhere from $40 to $90 USD.
