Serena Williams x Nike Air Force 1 LXX Zip 'Lapis' | First Look

Following on the heels of her Vogue retirement announcement earlier this week come official photos of the Serena Williams x Nike Air Force 1 LXX Zip ‘Lapis’, the latest project to come out of the Serena Williams Design Crew. An inaugural initiative to highlight underrepresented designers, the SWDC team created and launched apparel and footwear collections for Serena Williams. Since its inception, the SWDC has unveiled performance and leisure collections as well as sneaker designs fit for the queen of tennis herself.

The latest design from the SWDC team is a leather-clad Air Force 1 LXX Zip. Decked out in gold accents from toe to heel, this shoe comes with an all-over tonal royal blue/purple ‘Lapis’ palette. Lapis leather covers the entire upper, topped with an embroidered swooshes. Similar to the ‘Summit White’ version of the Serena Williams AF1 that dropped earlier this year, the tongue comes covered in a gold-zippered shroud. Serena’s signature is embroidered on the heel in gold thread, opposite the detailed tongue pull tab. Vibrant tropical floral insoles complete the look, adding a pop of greens and reds to the purple colorway.
