Social Status x Nike Air Max Penny | First Look

The Nike Air Max Penny is making a great comeback in 2022. With several releases on the calendar for the year, including the OG ‘Orlando’ colorway , a standout collaboration is also on the rise. Social Status, which is housed under The Whitaker Group, is known for some of the most sought after collaborations with Nike. The most notable piece of their model is that their releases always include a community aspect. With their NikeDunk ‘Free Lunch’ collab being such a great success, I am sure these will most likely go quickly.

With a cool grey and white nubuck upper, with touches of suede, the highlight of the shoe is the 5 interchangeable Nike Swooshes. Each swoosh represents a different sport, those being golf, basketball, baseball, football, and tennis. With that, there are also a pair of laces for each detachable swoosh. This will put you at 6 pairs of laces for this pair of shoes. With the colorway being very clean and minimalistic, these laces definitely add a playful touch to the silhouette. Featuring multiple points of co-branding, another highlight is the chalkboard on the insole featuring a handwritten Social Status logo.
