We can always tell a great collaboration between a brand and a celebrity when the entire line successfully encapsulates their style and personality. Vans did exactly that with its newest footwear and apparel collaboration with Tierra Whack. She is uniquely known for her loud and colorful style, personality, and music, and she brings that same passion with this line she created alongside her longtime stylist, Shirley Kurata. The Vans x Tierra Whack collection takes on a 1980s style with key elements of Vans brand heritage for a truly unique expression of design outside the lines.

The collection includes footwear and apparel that inspires a sense of play, positive energy, and self-expression. For the footwear, the Old Skool and Style 36 silhouettes lead the collection. The Old Skool was originally released in 2019 as part of a promotional run for a House of Vans Philadelphia performance that she created for her fans. The Old Skool contains an oversized and multicolored “WHACK” on the side that translates into “Weird Hype And Creative Kids.” The Style 36 silhouette plays with contrasts as it pairs a soft eco-suede classic white upper with pops of blue and oversized puffy laces. The collection also includes the Half Cab and the Snow MTE, where Tierra takes her own spin on the Vans classic. The Half Cab blends unexpected colorways with the Vans checkerboard print, with shades of yellow, green, red, black, and white, and the Snow MTE comes in a bright neon yellow that immediately captures the attention. The weather-ready boots feature a full patent leather upper and a black lug outsole.
On the apparel side, the collection includes a puffer vest, pleated skirt, long sleeve polo, twofer tee, a hoodie, a crew neck sweater, authentic chino cuffed pants, toe socks, and a reversible bucket hat. The apparel line is just as bright as the footwear and exudes color in every piece of clothing, giving a complete head-to-toe look.
