SneakHER Style: Adidas x Thebe Magugu

Hot off the heels of Ivytopia, the next Adidas collaboration sees the brand teaming up with South African designer Thebe Magugu for a dreamy new sports range inspired by African heritage, inclusivity, and kinship. Thebe Magugu, named for the designer, is a luxury South African fashion brand whose designs usually focus on rich social storytelling with a focal point on history, culture, and politics. This collection further engages those sentiments as Magugu also took inspiration from his mother, grandmother and aunt for the multicolored designs he worked on with artist Phathu Nembilwi.

This sportswear range is the first of two drops and it includes footwear and apparel. Pieces from the collection encompass different sports including running, swimming, training, tennis, football, and cycling accompanied with casual lifestyle garments. The apparel features vivid abstract designs in colors like Impact Orange, Yellow, Shock Pink, and Pulse Lilac. Since inclusivity and kinship were two of the main components when designing this collection, all the pieces include inclusive sizing and are gender-neutral with UNITEFIT. UNITEFIT is Adidas clothing system that was created to allow a wider spectrum of sizes, genders, and forms to be included for certain apparel from the brand. Footwear from the collection will include the Stan Smith, Astir, Nizza Platform and Forum.
When can I shop the Adidas x Thebe Magugu Collection?
The Adidas x Thebe Magugu drop 1 is available to shop now for adiClub members. For everyone else, the collection released on August 15th. You can use our SHOP THE COLLECTION button down below.
Prices for this drop range from $23 to $150 USD depending on which items you decide to cop. There’s no exact date set yet for drop 2 but we do know it will release some time in October. We will definitely keep you guys updated as we get all the details.
