Chicago designer and visual artist Mía Lee graced our site last December when she paired up with Chance the Rapper to produce the cover art for his latest release, “YAH Know.” Lee, whose one-of-a-kind cartoonish style is inspired by the black experience, is now releasing her very own apparel collection in partnership with Urban Outfitters.

My goal was to really push what people consider genderless apparel. Usually people think of hoodies, sweatshirts, and tees so the UO team and I really wanted to think outside of those lines.

Lee shares that her vision for the UO release included creating a collection that was unbound by gender.

“My goal was to really push what people consider genderless apparel,” says Lee. “Usually people think of hoodies, sweatshirts, and tees so the UO team and I really wanted to think outside of those lines. This entire collection is super cozy and just makes you feel good all around.”

The eclectic Mía Lee for Urban Outfitters collection features original artwork from Lee across a mix of sweaters, jackets, shirts, and pants. This drop is all bangers: every single item in the collection is a statement piece, from the graphic brushed knit crewneck pullover sweater, to the checkered back-and-white corduroy trucker jacket. Green, red, black, and cream make up the collection’s color palette, matched with fuzzy and silky accessories in the official campaign campaign photos. Lee’s cartoonish artistic stylings are carried throughout, with characters and handwritten phrases appearing on every piece.
