Sneakers have laid the foundation for building up community, but have also led to conversations in new landscapes. While we may have experienced trigger warnings throughout the better part of 2020, our minds have been opened to conversations around mental health and the importance of putting an intentional focus in that arena. When we first highlighted Elizabeth Beecroft, she had found an unconventional way of merging the two worlds that are important to her. Sneakers and mental health awareness. Liz has done an amazing job of not only removing the stigma and providing resources through her brand MENTL SESH, she has also been transparent AF with her own journey. Liz is relatable to our sneaker community and helps us understand that it’s okay to feel the feels, regardless of where we land.

In her crusade of community-driven initiatives, Liz has collaborated with the one and only Jeff Staple (founder of STAPLE!!) to launch a capsule rooted in mental health awareness. The Staple x MENTL Sesh capsule is all about promoting the importance of support systems and ways to incorporate different tools to continue (or begin) daily mental health practices. Not all days are bright and sunny ones, but when we fall we can fall together. The brands teamed up to emphasize that message and encourage us to find our people, our support system. The collection features a hoodie, t-shirt, journal, stress reliever, and pill box.

This is a really special project for me. It’s filled with a lot of personal touches from the details of the lookbook to providing you with actual tools and resources to improve your mental health practices.
