When the Rio Olympics were getting ready to descend on Brazil this past summer, the sneaker world was in a certified frenzy. Everyone from the Swoosh to Three Stripes were delivering collection after collection and, as they usually do with events of this magnitude, things got a bit lost in the shuffle. But, lucky for us, the Offspring x Saucony ‘Medal Pack’ survived the hype and has come to our attention yet again thanks to GirlonKicks.
The Shadow 5000 "Medal" Pack acts as a nod to the first and only Olympic Games to be held in the SOUF by in 1996. I am, of course, talking about the Atlanta summer games
Appropriately, three colorways of the Shadow 5000 are presented, representing the gold, silver and bronze medals. Each sneaker features metallic toes atop a tonal premium nubuck upper, woven braided laces and metal aglets. Finally, commemorative cobble print is featured on the sockliner, and “running since…96” — a play on Saucony’s original motto — is noted on alternate feet.
If you missed the original release back in July, you can nab each sneaker from the collection now by clicking below.
