Following the powerful “American, also” collection back in October, Pyer Moss and Reebok have teamed up again for their ongoing “Daytona” series. The line features everything from apparel to a remix of Reebok’s DMX Daytona sneaker. Designer and Pyer Moss founder, Kerby Jean-Raymond, used his unique forward-thinking approach to design to completely reimagine the iconic 90s silhouette. We’ve seen this sneaker, dubbed “Experiment 2,” in a couple of muted colorways but this latest iteration is for the bold.

Arriving in ‘Fierce Gold,’ this DMX Daytona Experiment 2 is ready to be seen. I’m such a fan of any kind of mustard yellow and it looks so good on this silhouette. For Kerby’s take on the DMX Daytona, he completely recreated the top of the sneaker but left the bottom untouched. The leather asymmetrical upper, dressed in gold, features suede overlays and a shroud construction to hide the laces. Details like the cream, off-center heel cap, magnetic tongue tab, and gold tipped laces really complete this shoe. Take a closer look at the ‘Fierce Gold’ DMX Daytona Experiment 2 below!

These kicks are definitely one of a kind and I’m loving the Pyer Moss approach to design. The sneakers are available now for $200 USD. If you’re a fan of Pyer Moss and Reebok, you can SHOP THE SNEAKS below!
