SNEAKER DIARY: Kickin' off the Holiday Season with CDG & Converse

The holiday season is upon us and I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait to slow down and reflect on all the crazy things this year brought. From the launchings of both the new CNKDaily.com and ShopCNK, it’s been pretty eventful. Thanksgiving and Christmas (my second favorite holiday) are right around the corner and I’m ready to take some time to enjoy a few wintertime festivities in the DFW area.

First on my list was to visit the new holiday themed installations at Museum of Memories. Nestled in Deep Ellum, MoM is nostalgia central. The museum is a collection of art installations centered around creativity and your childhood imagination, developed by Texas native artist, Steffi Lynn.

Museum of Memories is so bright and colorful, I decided to keep my look on the muted side. My go to sneakers for running around Dallas are a neutral pair of Chuck 70s because they’re comfortable, sturdy and help create the perfect elevated casual look. The CDG Chucks are always in rotation for their simplicity and that cute little PLAY heart. I paired the kicks with a cream oversized mock neck sweater that I “borrowed” from my mom’s closet years ago and a pair of muted rose joggers for a gentle pop of color.

The CDG Play Converse Chuck 70 has become such a staple in my closet since first getting my hands on them in 2017. The timeless design of the Chuck 70 mixed with the quirkiness of CDG Play makes this sneaker super versatile and easy to style. From skirts to joggers, you can definitely pull off some fun looks. The heavy organic canvas upper and vulcanized rubber soles also ensure that you can bring these kicks into any season.

Sneakers that are versatile in wear and season have my heart. These worked so well with this neutral look visiting Museum of Memories. The new installations were a holiday dream and a great way to kick off this season (pun intended).
