We don’t know about you all, but this Earth Day hit a little different. Not only are we reflecting on gratitude during these challenging times, but we realize even more not to take Mother Earth for granted. While the big brands are crushin’ initiatives centered around sustainability, it’s important to support and highlight local brands that are doing the same.

Through our community, we have come across some dope brands that know what it means to re-purpose the right way. Making products that put a focus on reducing that carbon footprint is always a plus. Quite honestly, the retail industry plays a major role in the environmental impact and sometimes doing our part can make a big difference. Check out a handful of brands we’re watching below. Designer Leslie Gomez has had a love for thrift adventures since way back in the gap. This has birthed her passion for re-working pieces to create stylish options for the ladies. Her TrynaB Studios has taken some of our favorite brands and used her upcycle skills to piece together unique looks to enhance your sneakHER style.

We loved growing up in the 90s, and Frankie Collective takes inspiration from the vintage vibes of that era. Instead of disposing of textile waste, this brand takes garment pieces and recycles them to design new streetwear styles. Frankie Collective is focused on sustainability while pushing the envelope when it comes to gear that’s cool AF.
