Levi's 'Beauty of Becoming' Campaign

Oftentimes we become so fixated on achieving greatness that we tend to forget the journey that leads us there. In reality the journey is just as if not more important than reaching our goals. Success comes in all forms and can mean different things to everyone. Whether that be starting up your own business, getting your dream job, or finally feeling fulfilled with life, your idea of success is unique and an experience no one can take away from you. Recently, Levi's has unveiled a campaign that focuses on just that: the journey to success and greatness that is achieved through experience, persistence, and self-exploration.

Levi’s ‘Beauty of Becoming’ Campaign takes an in-depth look at the journey’s of great individuals including athletes, activists, artists, and creators. Oge Egbuono, an artist, filmmaker, and activist created and directed the series and Shaniqwa Jarvis shot the portrait photography for the campaign while original music was created by Phantogram. While it can sometimes be difficult to reach the finish line, hearing the experiences of individuals who have achieved incredible things, despite a variety of obstacles, inspires us to continue to push forward. Below is a sneak peak at some of the individuals highlighted in the campaign.

“This is why they call it history instead of her-story. We know that, through the ages, many women have done magnificent and wonderful things, and yet their stories are lost in history.”

- Dolores Huerta, Activist

“Activism, for me, it means speaking what you feel in your heart. Everyone has their experiences that shaped them, and no one can take that away from you.”

- Naomi Osaka, Athlete and Activist
