Home Sweet Home.

The Jordan MA-2 infuses style + comfort to become our new front door fave.

If there’s one takeaway from stay-at-home life through a pandemic, it’s that cozy is the vibe. While the world was pivoting to stock up on activewear, oversized hoodies, and new shows to binge watch - we were still rotating our sneaker collections. Even though our Sunday Funday sneaker flex transitioned to the weekly living room photoshoots, our hearts were set on functional footwear. If we’re being honest, Jordan Brand had us feeling heard and seen in this new era of cozy.

Jumpman silhouettes have been rooted in Michael Jordan’s legacy, and inspired by stories on and off the court. With an abundance of retro Jordan sneakers that fall into the hype bucket, it’s been refreshing to see innovation take it’s course on a brand new design. We love our Air Jordans, but we needed a functional design that we could leave by the front door. Essentially, a go-to that met us at the intersection of style and comfort. The 2021 Jordan MA-2 delivered the pair that complimented our lifestyle.

The Jordan MA-2 takes deconstructed design elements to build a multi-dimensional feel that’s easy to slip on and off. The silhouette pushes the message of comfort ability throughout increased mobility. With a handful of colorways serving the e-shelves, the MA-2 is a seamless option for any outfit. The heritage of Air infused with future design create the perfect trifecta of fit, form, and function. If you’re like Klarke and vibe to a bold color palette and options or if you can appreciate a dimensional sneaker with textures like Helecia - the MA-2 has the look.

We decided to take the MA-2 for a test drive with women that not only had a unique flare for bold sneakHER style, but could appreciate the purpose behind the pair. Buying our favorite sneakers can easily take us down the path of childhood memories, but a fresh design is about new beginnings. As Klarke so beautifully noted during this shoot, “To see more Black women in sneakers, different types of Black women from all walks of life, is inspiring and ultimately encourages me to buy the shoe.'“ Representation in the sneaker space has been at the forefront for us as Black women, and brands that create products and campaigns rooted in authenticity create a sense of belonging.

Below the ladies are rockin’ the MA-2 in the originally released ‘Future Beginnings’ colorway.

When I look at sneakers, it’s almost like a form of art. I build off of it, whether it’s color schemes, textures, details. All of that is inspiring.

When it comes to sneakers and streetwear, it fits all people. Everyday women wear sneakers, businesswomen wear sneakers. [Representation] needs to be broadened to actually fit the people who wear the shoes.

You start with sneakers because they create the vibe. The comfort is there, but it still has that fashion element.

Sneakers represent to me, that it’s not just one way to do things. They represent who I am.

Representation matters. It plays a huge part in what we digest everyday. Sneakers can be for anyone, but they are a part of the Black community.

Everyone has a sense of belonging. Everyone wants to feel connected to something. If I see myself in the brand, I’m more prone to support it.
