BREAKING BARRIERS. CHANGING THE GAME.

We’re always the first to say that sneakers brought us places we wouldn’t have dreamed.  They have created connections and community we wouldn’t have otherwise experienced.  Sneakers have also allowed us to find inspiration in women who look like us and are forging their own legacies in a fresh pair.  Jordan Brand – and more specifically, Jordan Women’s – continues to understand how important it is to bring women together and stands apart as a company dedicated to getting it right.  From the wave of apparel and kicks specifically designed with her in mind to last year’s introduction to the Women’s Collective, Jordan Women’s has consistently put her first – and now, they’re continuing their commitment with a whole new cohort.

This month, Jordan Brand brings forth the next iteration of its North America Women’s Collective.  Rooted in uplifting trailblazers, the 2023 Collective consists of 11 women from 3 key cities across the country.  From Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York, the Collective is continuing to differentiate itself from the norm by taking actionable steps to bring women together for true community over competition, societal advancement, and evolving the Jumpman to represent a brand that is for, with, and by women.  Those actionable steps include the amplification of cohort members and their contributions through individual storytelling, key opportunities, exclusive experiences, and a focus on actually creating spaces for these ladies to organically connect, collaborate, and cultivate relationships that naturally make room for women to support other women.  But, ultimately, the goal is bigger than building small pockets of community.  It’s about the redistribution of opportunities and reestablishing power to a group of women who are redefining what it means to be a part of the Jordan legacy, not just on a court but right in the heart of the spaces and places they serve everyday.

The 2023 Jordan Women’s North America Collective represents the intentionality and will for progress that the Jordan Brand team leads with daily,” says Tonia Jones, Global VP and GM of Women's at Jordan Brand. “These women are incredible additions to the global Jordan Women’s Collective, and I look forward to the ways our team will jointly partner with them to continue expanding the presence and advancement of women in this industry.

Similar to the inaugural 2022 Cohort, this year’s Jordan Women’s Collective will continue to participate in a series of activities and experiences rooted in intention, bonding, and becoming more fortified leaders better equipped to tackle the needs within their communities.

Each new member of the 2023 Collective was selected, in part, due to nominations by members of the 2022 Collective and in recognition of the values they embody that align with the Collective core: authentic alignment with basketball culture; fearless with her craft; defying odds in her path; commitment to her community; and an understood responsibility to leave the world better than she found it.  Ultimately, each of these women are no strangers to blazing trails, tackling adversity, and creating spaces that make room for greater levels of service.
