Growing up it was necessary for me to have a new pair of low top all white Air Force 1's whether it was Spring, Summer or Fall. Being that I am from Chicago the low top all white AF1 is in our DNA. It's basically apart of our culture to have a pair of white "ones" just as much as owning a pair of "mikes."

To celebrate the 35th anniversary of the iconic silhouette Nike partnered with five key visionaries from around the world- Virgil Abloh, Errolson Hugh, Don C., Roc-a-fella, and Travis Scott-in celebration of the shoe's defining colorway, white-white. You had the opportunity to cop these through the Nike SNKRS App and grab some heat from the Grail Wall through the AF-100 raffle for a chance to win one of the 100 rare pairs on the wall.

I knew the second year of Complexcon would be madness and I only brought two pairs of shoes with me; Jordan Cement 4's and a pair of all white low top AF1 ironically. As we stepped into Complexcon, Nike welcomed all of us to step into the ring with Acronym's Errolson Hugh for a Master Class.

Never would it have crossed my mind to draw on a fresh pair of white sneaks but that was the goal for today, create whatever you want. We had five minutes to decide if we wanted our kicks to have the special dip dye. We were given three color options; neon yellow, pink, and graphite. I decided to go with the neon yellow because your girl is extra. The table was laid out with stencils, markers, laces, leather straps, tabs and an array of swoosh optons. I opted to go with a black leather swoosh and one neon colored swoosh, neon laces, and the material that said, "I was there."

After our shoes were dry it was time to add on the final touches with a little help from our friend Errolson. How often do you get the designer of Acronym to give you feedback on where to place your swoosh? As we designed our sneakers we had the opportunity to ask him his opinion and get feedback. Once you thought your shoe was complete you had the chance to make it Instagram famous. it photographed just like you see the sneaks on the Nike SNKRS app. Unfortunately my pair didn't get a chance to be photographed but some of our friends came up with some dope designs! Hey Ray and Lyna!

If you didn't finish your sneaks at Complexcon like me,no worries because this is an ongoing project! You can still use the material provided through your master class to make those sneakers ready to hit the streets. Thank you Nike for providing a once in a lifetime back to designing.
