Growing up in the 90s gave us a front row seat to some of the retros you see today. While we get hella excited for some of the sneaker hype, it’s fun to just rock what we like from our childhood. One side of the multi-faceted sneaker world is the silhouettes that were built around athletes and sports performance, not just the popular lifestyle motif. Charles Barkley or “Sir Charles” was one of the most well-known power forwards in the game, and his sneakers were just as bold as he was.

The Nike Air Force Max CB takes me right back to sitting in front of the TV with my parents watching basketball (shoutout to Sir Charles when he played for the hometeam Rockets in the late 90s). The throwback Air Force Max CB silhouette drops in a fly colorway to add to your rotations. The black upper is constructed of nubuck while “court purple” hits the hardware, Swoosh branding, and speckled midsole. The unique criss cross straps lock in the lacing system and create a snug fit. Hints of “team orange” make the colorway pop on the tongue, heel, and Max Air unit.

If you want to grab a piece of retro sneaker history and mix up your sneakHER rotation you can SHOP THE SNEAKS below. Luckily, we found these in smaller sizes, and you can cop for $150 USD. Cop or can?!
