Fall is here. Even though temperatures are still on the warm side in some cities (like Houston), brands are servin’ up all the seasonal colorways and styles. Last month for our CNK Poll Question, we enlisted our sneakHer ladies to weigh in on an upcoming Special Force Air Force 1. For this month, we are bringing you a bold hybrid that broke the internet during New York Fashion Week.

Aleali May has been very busy in the Jordan Brand lab, and released teasers for two fly silhouettes with her very own Air Jordan 1 and a friends and family Air Jordan 6. We all can see that Aleali’s fashion sense is a ladies’ favorite because she is well-versed at putting a street style look together. She adds a touch of feminine chic to an urban street aesthetic. Fashion Week was no different, and she came to slay in never before seen PSNY x Jordan 15 Over The Knee Boots. Yes, you heard correctly. OVER THE KNEE BOOTS.

Now, my first reaction was WHAT. ARE. THOSE!? Most of the ladies on the social media streets either loved or despised, but there was not much in between. We definitely wanted to reach out to some of our CNK Gang and get thoughts on these sneaker boots. Our sisters of the sneaker community held no punches with their candid feedback.

BEAUTY IS IN THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER...

The Jordan 15 already has an instantly recognizable bootie-like construction, but imagine and knee-high build added on. Made of tumbled black leather with red and white accenting, the silhouette exudes a feminine feel coupled with chic and lots girl power. With an “XV” detail stitched onto the zipper pull tab, one of our ladies felt the material looked way too thick. Does geographical location play a part in preference? Honestly, being from Texas there are not too many opportunities to rock these boots comfortably.

"I could cop, they're dope conversation starters and would look great when worn with dresses!"

HIT THE BLOCK, TURNIN' HEADS

If you want to stand out, this would be the one. The design connects by a leather sleeve transforming it into a boot. How would be wear this though? WHERE would we wear this to? While some of the ladies felt it was pretty futuristic fly, others said it reminded them of space boots. Nonetheless, this silhouette has definitely been a conversation starter.

"Drop [for me], I just wouldn't wear sneaker boots and they look too much like gladiator boots"

R-E-S-P-E-C-T

OUR RESULTS ARE IN! Overall, the ladies weren’t feeling this bold sneaker style. While Jordan Brand lovers and Aleali May fans give much respect to something different, wearing these in reality don’t seem like a feasible option. They are definitely a statement sneaker, and not just for an everyday stroll (LOL).

"I'm not a Jordan girl, but Aleali makes these look a little avant garde so respect..."

Do you think sneaker boots could be the next wave? I wouldn’t be surprised as high fashion begins to overlap into sneaker culture. We are seeing more and more sneaker brands hitting the runways. While this boot has been exclusive to NYFW, we are keeping our radars on for any public release information.
