Pharrell x adidas Hu NMD S1 Ryat 'Core White' | Release Info

Our favorite sneaker N.E.R.D. Pharrell Williams has been cooking up another footwear collaboration with adidas. The music phenom has developed a close relationship with the three stripes over the years, building the Hu NMD (human nomad) line of sneakers. The newest model to join the NMD family is the Hu NMD S1 RYAT, a hiking-inspired sneaker that was inspired by Pharrell’s love of the outdoors. The duo marry urban development and lush greenery in their concept for the sneak, combining two juxtaposed environments.

For Pharrell, the shoe is “a cultural artifact and an object for humans pushing forward on our planet.”

“The Hu NMD S1 RYAT is built with purpose,” reads the description on the adidas site. “To remind us that the future is now, life is our terrain, and that we should embrace every part of it.”

Suede and leather overlays are brought together for the shoe’s upper. BOOST midsoles offer cushiony support while the rubber TPU mud guard and toe cap add a sense of rugged utility. Chunky trefoil-replete outsoles give grip to the shoe, making it a street-to-hiking-trail option. Splashes of sky blue, bright yellow, and green give life to a primarily white colorway.
