One person’s old jeans is another person’s couture.

Olympic tennis player Naomi Osaka and denim outfitters Levi’s have teamed up to create a limited-edition clothing collection made up entirely out of vintage denim and recycled materials. “The sustainability aspect was super important to me,” Osaka said of the collab. This drop follows Osaka’s feature in Levi’s “Beauty of Becoming” campaign, a campaign that showcases how artists, creatives, and athletes found joy in their journey to success.

I always loved wearing kimono when I was a kid. So, to be able to do it in denim felt really different and a bit unexpected.

This upcycled collection only features showstoppers. A mid-thigh repurposed denim kimono nods to Osaka’s Japanese roots. “I always loved wearing kimono when I was a kid,” Naomi said in a press release. “So, to be able to do it in denim felt really different and a bit unexpected.” An eye-catching light blue jean bustier top in the collection comes with a shoelace corset back. Two shorts, a crystal fringe denim pair and a lace up pair, round out this eco-friendly collaboration.
