Complimenting your Curves with Lola Getts Activewear

At CNKDaily, we frequently speak about the realness of the struggle when it comes to an often-overlooked consumer demographic – women. Where there is struggle, we are beginning to find solutions as well. Whether that be females’ voices being heard through panelist forums or brands taking note from a distance on how to improve their products and their storytelling – we are moving in the right direction. However, there is another type of consumer that is not always catered to, but makes up over half of the female demographic. That is the curvy girl – the plus size woman.

A few brands have really began elevating their product line to show love to women that are a size 12 and up, but the question always remains… Are plus size products made with quality materials and are they inclusive to all types of curvy babes? It’s safe to say that brands can’t categorize plus size women as all the same, and actually there are very different types of full-figured ladies with very different tastes when it comes to apparel.

We decided to tap into the New York Sneaker Whisperer herself, Kixie Jixie, to provide insight on what she’s loving nowadays within the plus size market. Recently, Jas (AKA Kixie), introduced us to the Lola Getts line through a Lady Footlocker campaign she worked on explaining to us that LFL is at the forefront of catering to women like her when it comes to sizing. Kixie has always been an advocate for the curvy girl and fully understands that plus size apparel lines should be as multi-faceted as the women wearing them. We also felt it necessary to hear Kixie’s take on the apparel, because if you know Kixie – she does not hold back and that transparency is important.

Just like women size 12 and under, there are different types of full figured women. The athlete, the fashionista, the socialite [and] they should all be represented in campaigns. I would like to see more curvy women in campaigns.

Lola Getts is a plus size apparel line made in Los Angeles. Their founder, Stacy Goldstein, is adamant about the curvy woman being able to wear quality products that make her feel empowered and confident in everything she does. The Lola Getts activewear collection ranges from dresses to leggings (that actually fit well) to tops and more. When building her style, Kixie begins with a concentration around creating a smaller waist. She takes Lola Getts' metallic leggings and pairs them with A-line tshirts for a rock-inspired look. She also remixes her rotation with Getts' dresses - adding a jacket and fishnets. Not only does the curvy sportswear bae (AKA Kixie) apply her Lola fits to her unique fashion rules, she feels that brands will try and test the waters with more inclusiveness towards plus size options.
