Sneaker Diary: Hittin' the Courts in The Adidas Ultraboost

Cheers to my first SNEAKER DIARY!! It’s so crazy that this year is just about halfway done. At the start of 2019 I made a commitment to stay active and I knew the only way to accomplish that was to keep it fun. I’ve played tennis recreationally since middle school and 10 years later, I’m still no Serena or Naomi but I work up a sweat and that’s all that matters. It’s become a way to unwind and that’s definitely needed after the release of this new website. (Which I hope we’re all loving!!)

If you know me, you know I love mixing sportswear into my everyday wardrobe. It keeps me comfy, sporty and stylish.

From brunch to the tennis courts, I kept it simple and cute for a full day of activities. My latest obsession has been the airism collection from Uniqlo. It keeps me breezy in this Texas heat. This Alexander Wang x Uniqlo Airism bodysuit worked perfectly with my Wimbledon ready white skort. Paired with this red mesh sweatshirt I picked up a few months ago, it added just enough extra to make this look versatile enough for off the court. To complete the look, I grabbed a pair of Adidas Ultraboost in the “Chalk White/Active Red” colorway.

Not only are Ultraboosts a super comfy lifestyle sneaker, they were also meant for performance. Versatility is the name of the game. The Ultraboost sports a sleek Primekint upper with a midfoot cage that locks your foot in. Lending to that “wear all day” feel is the full Boost midsole and durable Continental rubber outsole.

These sneakers worked perfectly with this look. I love that athleisure looks have come a long way due to the introduction of high fashion in sportswear. The mixing of that world with the functionality of training gear has been a trend I can whole-heartedly get behind. It’s so cool to see brands like Adidas not only offering cool sportswear/lifestyle crossover pieces but bringing in and collaborating with fashion designers.

P.S. Looking for a tennis coach 👀…
