Melody Ehsani is Foot Locker's New Creative Director for the WMNS Business

Honesty hour. We have been members of the Melody Ehsani fan club for years. When the news of Melody being named as the first Creative Director for Foot Locker’s WMNS business, we automatically knew this was a big deal. BIG. Melody has been a guiding light in the sneaker/streetwear space and she has done so with the utmost element of authenticity. From her bold and meaningful sneaker collaborations to her apparel and jewelry, Melody always does things on purpose. Her intentional storytelling is what draws you in and the details truly matter. Her representation of women has easily positioned her at the forefront of the female empowerment conversation. But, it’s not easy.

During an impromptu Clubhouse chat this morning, Melody joined and briefly talked about the new role at Foot Locker. Exuding gratitude in her humble nature, she noted that being the first of anything isn’t an easy task. While she’s excited to take on the WMNS business, she is equally as focused on creating a lane for the women who come after her.

We can expect to see quarterly collections powered by Melody Ehsani, with the first one hitting the shelves in Summer ‘21. What’s even cooler is the initiative around accessibility. ME x FTL will develop a crowdsourcing program to determine how some of us in underserved markets can have better accessibility to more product. This will include collection Melody x Foot Locker pop-up shops across the US.

We also want to salute Foot Locker and what they have been doing to amplify the voices of women in sneakers and streetwear. Our hope is that the investment that the brand is putting into the WMNS business is a catalyst for supporting some of the challenges we talk about on the daily.

We can’t wait to see what Melody does in this new role and how she continues to serve and create the community!
