Sneaker Diary: Back to Black with Eden Brand
It’s been awhile since my last Sneaker Diary (like 9 months to be exact) but, I’m resolving to be better with capturing personal content this year starting now. I recently spent a few days in Houston to visit Cassidy for a little 2020 planning session and to be honest, to get a little break from Dallas. While I love Triple D, sometimes it’s nice to head down 45 and show some love to H-Town. I also wanted to make it a point to finally get a chance to rock a pair of joggers I’ve been sitting on for a minute and since Houston has been colder than usual lately, I thought this was the perfect opportunity to be comfortable and keep it fashionably cute.
Usually when I head to Houston, Cassidy and I are on the go constantly so I knew comfort-ability was key. I also know that joggers are quite literally one of my favorite things to wear and this pair from Chicago-based Eden Brand Official were no exception. Sometimes you don’t know what to expect from smaller brands but, I immediately knew Eden Brand was a solid offering when I received this pair of their Reflective Jogger in the mail. I wish I had purchased their matching Reflective Bodysuit in Black but, I managed with a simple black turtleneck similar to this one and a pair of the Jordan Woman Air Latitude 720 sneaks that have been in rotation since last year. If you’re feeling them, they’re on sale now and you can shop them here. Lastly, I accessorized with large silver hoops and an amazing re-engineered bag created by VixxStudios. The purse can double as a clutch or a shoulder bag and was created using the tops of recycled Nike socks.
If you’re a fan of the 3M technology present on many of our favorite sneaks, you’ll love these joggers. The reflective trim is prominent on the sides and lower parts of the pant and really popped when that flash was active. I’m wearing a size medium but, these are handmade so, if you’re more curvy you’ll want to make sure you size up. Luckily, the pants also feature a polyester buckle belt that helps tighten the waist significantly. The bottoms feature elastic cuffs so you can easily pull them up or down. The way mine fit, I prefer them with higher top sneaks but, depending on the look you’re going for, you can wear them either way. I’ll definitely be grabbing another pair in the Eden Brand Reflective Jogger in Camo in the future.
We hit up the Galleria area in Houston and walked around a bit looking at the cute shops and I found a bistro that literally reminded me of a cafe in Paris. Afterwards we took a trek to Upper Kerby and a coffee shop, unfortunetly I could only have the herbal tea but, I’ll be making a trip back soon just to try the mocha latte because coffee is my thing. Ultimately, I was able to break in the joggers and hit all three of the rings on my Apple watch so, win and win.
If you’re planning to trip to Houston, I highly recommend a trek to the Galleria and carving out some time for a movie at IPIC theater (apparently they have the comfiest seats ever) and a bite at Dish Society. Even with a few dietary restrictions I was able to enjoy the menu.
