“What I am trying to do is use my platform for people to tell their stories.”

Pharrell Williams and Adidas “Hu” collection is more than just sneakers it’s about the human race. In the 3-minute video they detail how Pharrell traveled to North Dakota to photograph his adidas Originals Hu Collection with the Native people of the M.H.A Nation. He even answers the viewers question, “Why did you come here?” Pharrell explains, “Sometime it’s better to go back and explore the pure ways. What better way to do that than with the Native Americans.” Pharrell goes on to explain the meaning behind his collection with adidas and wants us to know that it’s more than sneakers but us as human beings.

'Hu is short for human - human being, human race, humankind,' said Pharrell. 'But Hu, itself is also a reference to color. As human beings, we all have a color. We all look different, we all speak different languages, but we're all connected.'

The collection itself will include 19 pieces including track jackets, windbreakers, joggers, and shorts. It will also include five Hu NMD’s in the primary colors; red, green, blue, yellow, and black. You’ll be able to shop the collection tomorrow worldwide. Check out the full lookbook here.
