There has been a shift in the modeling industry from romanticizing to humanizing women, as the concept of individuality has not always been upfront. For model and Victoria's Secret Angel, Elsa Hosk, the word femininity has been reshaped and individualism has been boldly brought to life. In a recent shoot with Paper MagazineElsa merges her basketball roots with her modeling career in the editorial called ‘Baroque Basketball.

The Swedish model can be pictured wearing designs such as Ellery, Dion Lee, Don C shorts and Gucci, while also sporting a Chicago Bulls jersey and white tops in other images from the shoot. The former basketball player discussed with Paper Magazine the importance of women receiving respect in the sports industry. "There are so many badass female athletes out there that live and breathe their sport and that deserve the same major respect and attention." Elsa shared that basketball taught her "how to work in a team and how to use my body" and that has played a role in her modeling career. She provides some essential life advice that we are here for!

Be yourself all the way, work hard, set your own trends, be nice, grateful, strong, take no bullshit, and never compare yourself to anyone!
— Elsa Hosk

We find it interesting how two niches can overlap given that Elsa is a model and also a former basketball player. Many times these industries intertwine without even realizing it. While we tend to question if the representation is genuine, in this case, it most certainly is.  If you're looking to read the full editorial, you can catch it now on PaperMag.com AND, if you're looking to shop some of the looks from the shoot, we've included a few options below.
